Cops warn parents of drug-laced lollipops

Chicago Police on Friday night were warning the public, especially parents, about drug-laced candy suckers being sold on the West Side.

The lollipops, known as "dro pops," were going for $10 each between Central Park and Independence, and between 13th Street and Douglas, police spokeswoman Alice Casanova said.

The lollipops have tested positive for THC, the main substance in marijuana, as well as PCP, an intravenous anesthetic. They can provoke highs similar to those caused by smoking marijuana, taking Ecstasy or a combination of both.

Police are encouraging anyone with information on the lollipops to call them.
