TarPy.

Your "holly than now" attitude is transparent.

You came to the board and posted comments about my company without posting the entire truth. You admit information was omitted on your behalf, howerever, classified our side of the story as "company confidential" and told us "don't put internal company shit on a public board ever again".

Was this "internal company shit "

That we assisted your company, after the move, in getting software services on a server, of which we do not have access to and of which are contractually unmanaged, back online? Not something wildly noteable, and ommited non the less.

In all truth, what your asking me to allow is one side of the story to be told. Yours.

That must be convenient for you, but that shit "no fly" in my book.

Your comments that this was unplanned and you were given short notice also don't fly as on February 25th, 2004 at 4:13PM PST, DAYS before your move, an e-mail was sent to everyone we had a contact for in your company that noted the following.

"... In the next week, you may be contacted by support with a date and time when we are going to migrate your server from our previous collocation facility to our wholly owned and operated Data Center. The facilities are less than 400 yards apart. The move will not require ANY IP or DNS changes. It will be as simple as unplugging the cables from your server, moving it, and plugging them back in. We will, of course, be doing this off-hours to minimize downtime (which we expect will not exceed 45 minutes). If you do not receive a notice from us, most likely you are already hosted in the new facility and will not require a move.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Best Regards,

Further steps were made through another e-mail notifying customers on the night of their move, and a post on GFY the day of the move.

I consider the above matter closed.

Now, on to Lensman comments. Lensman was not denying the outage, he was pointing out that it did not effect everyone. The truth of the matter, the outage effected only 25% of customers.

He also posted "They moved datacenters this week, so I know there have been issues. " But I guess you missed that part.

He was also correct in posting that "Jupiter was not down today.". Jupiter is a company with a very large network. As a whole, the network was not down. As several people posted in that thread, traffic was getting rerouted on a Williams router in Dallas. Something completely out of our control as we do not purchase transit from them. I also explained this.

The fact is, is that you came to the board without knowing all the facts and rather than apologize for erroneous or misleading comments, you are further defending them in an effort to shore up your story.

And as I said to your company, I apologize for the downtime.

As a function of growth, Jupiter simply could not fit into our old facility. We have a good relationship with all of our providers, and I invite anyone to come down and look at our operation, and tour both the old and the new facilities and tell me it did not make business sense to consolidate.

That's my last word. I have waffles that are getting cold.
