Posting On A Locked Thread Jupiter Down

This thread...

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...pagen umber=1

was locked right after Lensman got his last word. Since I got a big public review discussing internal company issues that were not a matter for a public forum and was not given a chance to respond, here I go anyhow.

Quote:
I also personally spoke to you today and informed you of the credit that we will be issuing for the downtime. A credit for a scheduled maintenance window? Try to find a company that does that outside our industry.
Ray at Jupiter

Ok, fine, that's totally ok with me. If you will note, nowhere in my post did I claim that the host shouldn't have been down, or that the downtime was excessive.

What I said was that Lensman felt like acting as if the downtime had not occurred when he posted this shit...

Quote:
Jupiter was not down today.

Looks like Shap got the shaft from an upstream provider.
Lensman - Owner of Jupiter

I simply said in way too many words, the following...

Quote:
Before anyone gets smart, as far as I'm concerned, the "UPSTREAM" is Jupiter's concern, so the upstream may have gone out on Jupiter, at Shap's facility, but it did not go out on Shap.

Jupiter was unable to keep Shap's box's UP, due to an upstream problem THEY had.

Why does everyone forget what their responsibilities as a company are and start pointing fingers?

...

Own up please, downtime is unavoidable, but don't try to cover the issue.
Me

If you ask me, Lensman is acting like a board whore more than a respectable Business CEO that we all know him to be. If he wants to mix words with the little whores on the board, and play with the kiddies, that's fine.

But, when it comes to B2B relationship management at a company that performs the role of a backbone to many companies in the industry, he should act like the mature adult I've met, instead of just denying that downtime occurred, and offering supportive comments to his clients rather than just mocking them as though their downtime was all in their fucking heads.

Now, there WAS downtime. Jupiter WAS down. As Ray pointed out, the length of the downtime was lengthened by our specific situation. However, the notice on the downtime was fairly short, and somewhat alarming.

Yes, Ray, LikeWhoa acted more professional than they ever had, right up until the last downtime which was their last. They tried real real hard to keep that company alive, and that meant not letting their customers know that they were teetering on the edge.

No, Ray, I do not think that Jupiter is anywhere near the point that LikeWhoa was, nor do I think it will be soon. My point is that we don't know. And, if you'll look, I said we don't know, and won't know for sure what it was.

However, I think the fact that this thread was closed is exactly indicitive of what I was talking about with Lensman.

Quote:
There isn't a major hosting company in the adult biz that has not had an outage. I didn't post the others, because no one spammed them in this thread. After all, it's the Internet.

The lame spam is getting too thick here. Time to end it.
Lensman

I really really really hope that any/all board whores that take their time to read everything that floats through here will closely watch for the next time Oxeo, ISPrime, or Webair goes down, and see how ansy Lensman gets to stop all the Jupiter SPAMMING that will occur on their threads.

Something tells me he won't be so quick to let their owners site the ( http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...Jupite r+Down ) Thread, and then immediately close it.

Now for the executive summary closer.

Jupiter credited us 3 days of our Bill. An appropriate move by them to account for the lost time/money.

Lensman, gave me the impression that he'd like to act like a childhood king, say that it wasn't them, we are all nuts, get in the last word and close the discussion. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get banned for this thread too while he's at it.

Ray - Handled the manner professionally, but chose to discuss what I feel were internal matters to our account on a public forum. I would appreciate any information like that not be disclosed in a public forum in the future, but I will say that at least he seems much more concerned with rectifying the situation and compensating his customers like a professional than Lensman does. And I applaud his handling of the situation otherwise. However, if he has read my posts more carefully, he would have seen that my criticism of Jupiter was their denial of the problem by lensman, not really that the problem occured, I even said Downtime was unavoidable.

So, basically... Lensman grow up a little, Ray, good work, but don't put internal company shit on a public board ever again.

And spammers, what the fuck, don't you see that shamelessly plugging the competition's downtime threads makes you look about as respectable as TV personal injury lawyers?

Capitalize on your success, not your competitions failures.

Would you rather be a company that "at least didn't fuck up as BAD as THEM" or a company that "doesn't even notice the other companies in their field, because they play on a higher level"

Whatever, this was useless anyways, but it clarifies my public stance, which is important to the people I represent.
