Thanks for all the input about the cars; wow lots of replys!
Just a couple of things; I don't want this to be a track car. My brother owns a Ferrari 360 Stradale Challange so if I want to blow some steam off on a track I just borrow his car and do a couple of laps. My everyday car is an Audi A8 that I use when I need to be fancy and have to travel in style. I really, really love that car. I've sold my S430 Benz to get that car and I must say it was worth it (Benz = $120,000, A8 = $70,000). What I really want this "weekend" car for is to feel sporty and head down to the beach house with my wife on the weekends. Yes, you can go down there with the A8 but its kinda a "stuffy", for lack of a better word, experience. I want to drive something small, responsive and fun.
I've narrowed it down between the S2000 and the VW because I've been a VW Golf/GTI nut all my life but the S2000 looks very fun also. I saw every single S2000 video from
Go Fast Video and pretty much the fire for the S2000 started up in my heart again (I had a "crush" on the car previously before). Since I've owned a VW GTI before I know how much fun driving a VW is (you should really try it; it's Fun with a capitol F). I think next I need to check out the S2000. I'm going to Vegas soon and the place I usually rent from
Dream Car Rentals has the S2000 so I'll be heading down to Lake Meed with that car to see how it handles. My only concern about the S2000 is comfort. I'm 6"2' and I have a hard time with smaller cars. Driving a Benz SLK is impossible for me. The seats don't go back far enough and the stearing wheel is in my lap. I wonder if that will be the case with the S2000.
Thanks for all the input from everyone. You guys rock !
