Hmm.... I guess it's a matter of numbers.
It's $2500 a month to have your banner at the top of this board (or so I've heard).
it's in a rotation of what... 10 - 15 or even more? Which means that you're likely to see that banner twice in a day, unless you tend to post a LOT.
So, you consider, at the top of the page, you'll see it once... IF you even ever look up there. I know I do occasionally, but not everday.
However, I DO look at the posts. I happen to check out some posts more than others... like say.... AaronM's.
Now, I'm MUCH more inclined to go and read Aaron's posts... of which there could be 5... 6.... 20 in a thread. Including other people's posts obviously. I'm specifically GOING TO HIS POST.
I don't have to look up at the top of the board... away from the threads or posts. I'm FOCUSING on his post... and therefore, on his sig. You can argue that you might not really look, but you don't have much choice if you plan on scanning down to the replies under it.
AaronM's sig will get 1000% OR MORE eyes across it than a banner at the top of the board... in heavy rotation.
So, $2500 for a banner at the top.... or pay $3k or more for that 1000% more eyes thing?
