I don't think ANYONE wants as much government intervention 'as possible' in ANY form, either conservatives or liberals. We just want as much as is necessary, and that's where the two philosophies differ.

I think conservatives are insane for somehow not noticing however, that the Republican Party is far more economically and socially intrusive than the current democratic party.

As far as anarchy goes, I don't think you would like it as much as you think you would. In the words of Hobbes, life without the social contract would be "No arts, no letters, no society, and which is worst of all, continual fear and danger of violent death, and the life of man solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short."
