WASHINGTON -- The FBI is warning the public about an e-mail hoax.

The agency says someone is sending out an e-mail that claims to be from the FBI. The subject line on the e-mail says something like "Your I.P. was logged." IP stands for Internet Protocal address, a type of online address.

The e-mail warns computer users about illegally downloading movies and software and claims the FBI is investigating the receiver.

The agency said the e-mail is fake and wants anyone who may have received the spam to contact the bureau.

You can find out more about the e-mail by looking under the announcements list on the FBI's homepage at www.FBI.gov.

You can also file a report about receiving the bogus e-mail by filling out a form at www.ifccfbi.gov/cf1.asp.

Have you all seen this yet ? Hope its helpful.
