The hard card is a totally different credit card number , but runs off the same account. ( mainly used for atm withdrawls )
I have an account with gamma that i get paid and go to my atm and take out the cash 5 minutes later

Yep. In other words, the same account gives you a free "soft" card for online use, and an optional "hard" card for ATM's and restaurants and the like.
