Man, you need to do the biz plan for yourself. Most content providers will agree that a hardcore video will net you 1000-2000 USD if the quality of the video is good and the models are sexy.
Sony VX2000 is $2000 right now so go and grab one. Lights u probably don't need in the beginning since you're in FL. Just make some wild pool parties. Just don't forget two things when shooting outside:
1) White-balance the VX2000 before each scene
2) Set the zebra to 85% and look if the skin exposes right - if it's too white, you need to decrease the aperture.
If possible try not to shoot in direct sunlight either. You'll learn as you shoot more I guess.
