i think i see his point and if it's laid out a bit more then people would understand.

there is a black history month, there is cinco de mayo, and there are the jewish holidays. nothing is dedicated to asians, indians, native american's, etc....

at no time is there a "white" holiday (you cannot count presidents day or any of that stuff) and no one gets off for the jewish holidays. you have to be jewish to take the day or days off and in most instances, you have to take a personal day rather then it being a national holiday unless you work for an all jewish company.

mlk day is considered a national holiday and febuary is a dedicated black history month whereas every other race pretty much gets nothing.

i agree there there are quite a few people who have done a lot for this country and even the world who should get the same respect for a day and/or month as mlk. why not have an einstein month or day, why not have a graham-bell month or day (he certainly did a lot for the world!); you see what i am getting at.

there's nothing "racist" perse but there is something wrong where those who have made a major inpact on the world should receive the same attention as mlk.
