We had shipping problems as well. I stressed probably just as much as you. Fedex never picked up an order from the shipping company so 2 of my clients were stuck.
we had them on a plane the next day.
after much confusion, A courier picked up the cards from the airport and delivered them to the hotel for my clients.
I refunded the shipping fee to my clients even though I was out the cost of shipping (thus losing any profit).
My clients stressed just as much as yours did, however I think they are happy with the end result and the effort to make sure the cards were delivered directly to them.
Hindsight IS 20/20. I won't be making any last minute orders around the Holidays anymore.

Yea well I didnt know the room # or the phone # of anybody from DH . I sent a message to the employe I dealt with but I guess he didnt got it . I had the # of every other clients.
Anyways its setup right now I talked to DH
