I don't know everything that happened, but shouldn't the weight be on the company who fucked up? I'd be running over to DH's room knocking on his door and calling him every 5 minutes until I reached him (yes, I'm sure you didn't have his room number). He paid for the cards, he shouldn't have to walk to another hotel and track someone down just to get what he originally paid for. At the very least, arguing with clients is a little unprofessional. There was obviously numerous fuckups and the client's not happy. Just refund the money and move on to the next one.
