I can't have kids and adoption runs in my family (as it is...my dad, uncle and their adopted grandfather were all adopted). So, I take it really seriously but nope..anyone of those things rules us out in the UK atleast.

My aunt adpoted a 8yr. old girl, she also was unable to have a child. I remember how long it took and how hard it was for her and her husband.
