People downloading from newsgroups are computer literate. They can getr tons of content FREE ( full movie downloads, full series of pics , ...) .
They will not join a website when they can get their daily fix free.

Ask around how many people know about newsgroups... Maybe 2 out of 10 ... You want to market your stuff to the 8 , not to the 2....
