RAM is very important (although more so in P4 systems) because its bus speed will limit the amount you over clock.
My PC3200 runs @ 400mhz (2.5) and 333mhz (2.0).
If i increase my FSB, i have to enable a divider, which reduces my RAM speed.
PC2700 with an Athlon 2800 seems a bit of a missmatch? (would have thought you would have wanted faster ram than that).
Although because the AMD chips operate differently to P4s, the ram speed is not as important because you wont reach clocks speeds that will fubar it.
