friggin sinusitis........i'm reading this thread and feeling sorry for you thinking you have a brain tumor. screw that, i'm sure sinusitis isn't pleasant but it's not worthy of a GFY pity post.

we have to set some rules about pity posts, there has to be a minimum standard of suffering set.

i suggest that these are some basic minimum requirements to make a pity post

1. Death of a family member, immediate family only - nobody cares if your 97 year old aunt died, bitch lived too long anyway.

2. Death of a pet - i'm up in the air on this one - if you can demonstrate that the pet filled a large void in your life and you spent as much time with the pet as a significant other than you may post about your dead cat,dog,goat etc. Admission that the pet was your only friend is good - this is well worthy of pity.

3. Illness - MUST be a SERIOUS illness, no flus and colds, ahem ... sinusditis, illness must require medical attention of course. Chronic illnesses are worth of pity posts. Mental illness must be severe enough to have been hospitalized at least once - these days doctors are prescribing anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications to anybody. Not good enough.

4.Surgery - yes surgery is an acceptable reason for a pity post ........ IF it requires general anaesthesia. Getting a mole burned or frozen off is not surgery. Some dental surgeries are acceptable but must be serious - impacted wisdoms, gum surgery, jaw work etc

5. Job Loss - only worthy of a pity post if the job was worth something in the first place. Losing your job at Kinko's is not worthy of a pity posting.

6. Breaking Up With BF/GF - must be a long relationship - minimum 1 year. Plus you must show evidence that your ex was somewhat attractive. And if you cheated on them or let yourself go and ballooned to 300 pounds and never washed then no pity post for you.

7. Hard drive fried With No Backup - no, you didn't back up your shit - don't wanna hear about it if it's your own fault.
