The orange lighting thign isn't a camera problem, it's a lighting problem.
It's hard to see with the naked eye, but most sources of light arn't white. Fluro tubes actually throw out a green glow, and most incandescent, and quite a few streetlights put out a nasty yellow colour.
The solution is simple, read in the manual about colour balancing. You can manually set the camera to balance out the yellow etc etc.
Better boat than i'm in, every time I want to colour balance I have to get colour balanced film :D
If you're taking portrait snaps a lot, a good flash will never go astray.. however I've taken thousands of good photos without..
