Players Ball stays underground for only industry

I've been reading about the XBiz press release. I think it's cool they did their press releases and received exposure.

For me, I've been keeping a low profile with the Players Ball. We've never done a press release. In the past I was contacted by press and let them attend, usually press happens after the fact, not before. My reasons are because I like to keep it known for only industry people to avoid the mainstreamers who have no business hassling me or our people trying to get inside. It creates temptation to a security guy to sell passes to those non industry people. As soon as they see the demand to get in, the security people start taking money to cut in front or let them in. Once the venue is filled, the original pass holders might get shut out.

I've had this happen in the past, believe me.

I applaud that XBiz wants that mainstream exposure, just as they would applaud me had I gone that path. And I might one day, who knows. But for me, I like it being underground. Mainstream already knows about it anyway.

My main focus this year is to keep it private with no hassles.

I hope to see you guys at the Players Ball, it's going to be real fun. We only have around 400 passes left. All other passes are accounted for with sponsors. If you haven't bought a package which includes passes, if we don't sell out before the show, stop by the booth early. We'll honor the links for 3 months on our site and newsletter. All links will be going up next week.

Play on...
