My best suggestion to you is to go to the nicer grocery or a wine store and ask for recommendations. For 50 bucks a bottle in the store you can get the equivalent of a 100 bottle in most nice restaurants.

You may also want to consider buying two bottles -- if so I'd go with a Steele Pinot Noir to start out with and then move to one of the bottles above with the steaks.

And a nice bottle of wine doesn't detract from the flavor of a steak, it should complement it.

I have to say.. Kimmy knows her wines.. but any bottle that cost you $50 in a grocery store will run ya over $250 in a restaurant.. hell they charge $40 for a $6 bottle of cheap wine in most restaurants...
