I use DVD XCopy too, but your statement isn't entirely true.

There are two different dvd formats, DVD-5 and DVD-9...Actually, there are many more than those two, just those are standard.

Any DVD-5 title will fit on a standard DVD-/+R...It only has one layer per side.

DVD-9 titles are processed using two layers per side, holding about 7.95GB within the two layers, per side.

I just use a double sided DVD for those =)
