Labels seem to dictate what is fashionable and what isn't. This may have happened to you. You go into a store and see some clearly attrocious piece of clothing, you wonder what moron would buy it, and then you notice the label. More often than not, seeing the label may cause you to at least rethink your previous judgement.
This is just the problem, and I agree with MetaMan on this point, a designer cannot just up and decide what's cool. As soon as you let a label dictate what you wear, especially if it's bad, you've been brainwashed.
Now if prada is your thing, that's cool, especially if you know a lot of girls who are dumb enough to fall for the label the way you do. More often that not, these happen to be really hot girls too. So before you guys condemn it, realize that in the right context, it's just as good at attracting girls as something else that looks good.

I don't fall for the label... I like the stuff, I wear everything that looks kool to me... if it's $5 on Wal-Mart or $600 at Prada I don't care as long as it looks good
and so far I always bought stuff that doesn't have the label very visible on it... the Gucci cap is my first "promo" fashion item.
I don't like to show off or something, I just like the style and the quality!
