Personally I would say the whole premise this country was formed on was killed staring with the Civil War. I certainly don't agree with many of the South's policies of the time but when we changed the whole power structure by exerting federal rights over state's rights by not allowing the states to secede; it was the first brick in a wall that has been the erosion of the Constitution. Every year another right goes bye bye and the sleeping people don't even realize it.
Most people have no idea what this government can do to you that would fly in the face of what you thought your rights where.
