I went in a few months back simply to see if I could manage stress better. Hypnosis is simply deep relaxation. If they can get you into a deeply relaxed state, they send simple messages and/or encouragement to your subconcious.
I went 3 times and each time, I was given a tape of the beginning and end where they lead you into relaxation and then pull you gently out. For a while, I would put on my headphones when I went to bed and it was really nice to "meditate" so to speak and just clear my head so I could sleep better.
It helped me alot and kept me from having to take anxiety drugs so for me it was well worth it.
All of our little habits and behaviors are subconcious and can easily be adjusted or altered this way.
