I remember when I first got doom on Sega 32x. I hooked all my stuff into the stereo, turned off the lights, and left the door cracked a few inches.
I felt like a 5 year old again with the adrenaline from jumping in a hole only to find some hell spawn trying to eat my face. And those damn things sneaking up on you from behind would startle the shit out of you.
