It depends on the girl. I don't really like to get jewelry because I usually dress casually. If someone got me a diamond bracelet I'd probably wear it once a year at best.
The best bet is to deeply think about what SHE likes. What are her hobbies? Her passions? Getting a casual girl a diamond bracelet or Prada bag is about like buying a fishing rod for an uptown girl. It just doesn't make sense.
