hmmmmmmmmm........ this is interesting. DVD ripping seems to be covered by Sec 1201 as DVD's are encrypted - $500,000 would hurt, 5 years in the crowbar saloon would hurt more.

Sec. 1204. Criminal offenses and penalties

`(a) IN GENERAL- Any person who violates section 1201 or 1202 willfully and for purposes of commercial advantage or private financial gain--
