I hope you see the problem with your reasoning. Sure, the whole of the people that live in a country are important - at least, for that country. However, that doesn't change the fact that those people themselves are expendable, intercheangable and ultimately insignificant.
You are a worker ant. If something would step on you, the colony would go on, unchanged. And since even the colony is insignificant, that makes you a nothing.
And what exactly do you contribute to your country? You work, consume, watch television, reproduce, die. You don't do anything worth remembering, and probably never will. From the day you were born until the day you die, you will just follow the path society set out for you. You lack even the remotest sense of authenticity and originality, and somehow manage to fool yourself into taking pride in that.
So what makes you proud of your country? The fact that you pay taxes? You would get thrown in jail if you didn't. Your idea of "giving culture"? Eating Big Macs, watching American Idol, listening to Eminem and supporting your local football team isn't giving culture. In order to give something, you have to create something. You don't. You just follow, consume... you're not even a human being, you're a barely conscious mechanism, with the delusion of having a purpose.
