Newsflash: your country isn't you. And, furthermore, your country doesn't care about you. Really, whatever country you live in, nobody cares whether you live, die, burn in hell or stick a baseball bat up your ass. Your government doesn't care - most politicians would gladly sacrifice your life for 100 votes if they could - and neither do "the people".

Let's face it, whoever you are, you are meaningless. In 100 years, you will be dead, buried and forgotten. Your country won't erect statues for you, historians won't write books about you and national holidays won't be held in remembrance of you.

Feeling "part of a nation" is just a delusion meant to deal with the sheer insignificance of your existance. But really, you aren't part of a nation. You just happened to be born in a certain geographical area, and either got lucky or not. Feeling pride over something like that is much like taking pride in the hairiness of your ass - severely stupid and ultimately ridiculous.

You didn't "help build" your nation. You just went with the flow. If you had never existed, your country would be just fine. When you die, your country will go on exactly the same, unaffected by your demise.

Know what's worse? Your country is meaningless. In 10000 years, it will be nothing more than a few passages in the history books, serving only as something to be misinterpreted by history students.

Accept reality. The only reason you are taking pride in whatever country you're living in is to forget your own pathetic insignificance for just a few brief moments. You were born nothing, and you will die nothing, and there is nothing that can change that.
Wrong, just by living in a country we are helping it to run. Without "insignificant" people like us the country wouldn't run. We pay taxes, we give culture, every single person has a role to play no matter how big or small. A Nation is ever changing depending on the people that live there.

Your theory couldn't be any less true about the USA. Now maybe if you lived in some shithole of a country which you probably do.

BTW if you like to think of yourself as insignificant go ahead, its probably true. But don't shove your shit beliefs on other people
