I have removed myself.... it's called SPAM filter. If I knowingly subscribe to something and want to cancel I use the remove link and remove myself. BUT, if I end up on a list where I didn't add myself, chances are the removal link is just going to be ignored, or worse end me up on even MORE SPAM lists because I've now verified there's someone at the other end of the ADDY.
