This again is more boogie man scenarios. The paranoia inflicted by the legal industry should be a crime. Always look at someone's motivation for imposing fear on you. The media does it all the time, the government does it all the time, it is a natural part of our society. Fear. Everywhere I go in the US I am confronted with fear. It is simply not that way in other parts of the world. You do not see how deep rooted it is until you step away from it.
If you know anything about the federal system it is all about conviction rate and forfeiture success. They want the high conviction rate (sure thing cases) and they almost always want to take all of your possessions. So are you an easy case? Are you flaunting your wares on TV, are you pushing the government? Do you have a large amassed fortune that would appeal to the government? Are you pushing the envelop of acceptable content? Do you live in a state that does not protect its citizens (most don't - the good ones will make it impossible for the government to screw with your assets).
These are all questions you should ask yourself.
From my experience, in the past, with dealing with the average adult website owner they are consumed with this passion that the 'man' is right around the corner. Additionally, all of them feel they are hardcore pornographers, which few would even fall into the category of content producer. I am not sure what situation you are in and what you do, but 99.99% of the people I have dealt with were voting democrat and having some bullshit legal team that 'specializes' in the adult market on retainer, needlessly. There isn't anyone in our market that I would entrust my legal defense to. Most of these clowns are washed up has beens who found a way to spin their negetivity into a pay check off of the easy prey. Always remember that your biggest enemy is most likely the state you live in! I would rather go toe to toe with the government than have to deal with some of the facist states.
