That is sooo funny cause my mom was totally like that. If we ever said a word in Sicilian she'd get all pissed off just like we were swearing or something, lol.

Visiting Italy I can see why she had this attitude. It seems like most of Italy severly looks done on Sicily for various reasons. Speaking Sicilian (outside of Sicily) is looked at just like people here speaking Ebonics.

It's funny cause my mom has a TON of Italian friends here and I'd say 90% of there children don't speak Italian. I always found that weird. It seems here in America most native Italian parents don't teach there children Italian.
