I ate a few of those (piranha not mice) in Venezuela a few years ago. They are pretty good. Some Amazonians eat them all the time.

We had to fish for them putting little chunks of chicken on our hooks and just seconds after it hit the water you had to yank it out or your bait would be gone.

To add to the story, which doesn't even sound believable in the first place, we were on a 4 day hunt looking for anaconda, sleeping in tents and living off the land... yadda, yadda. It was 100's and 100's of miles of land spotted with little ponds filled with piranha and crocodile, and all over the land were cattle (and bones). Of course this marshy environment made a perfect growing ground for shrooms as cow dung was everywhere. So our guide was eating the shrooms like candy and wading into shallow waters (not the piranha & croc ponds) shuffling across the bottom trying to find one of the largest snakes in the world, and wrestling crocodiles along the way. I was with the South American "Croc Hunter" on shrooms. Truly insane.

Now every time I see one of those fish I want to eat it... they really do taste that good.
