I was "born" and raised here but techniqually since my entire heritage up till me is Italian I consider myself a full on Italian American.
I learned it as my first language and still speak it fluently. I visit my family there all the time.
I'm as true blue American as they come but because I was raised in such an Italian atmoshpere AND visit there so often I am proud of my Italian heritage.
Those that make fun of this kind of thinking don't understand because you're regular "american mixed mutt" and don't have any other culture to relate too... IMHO.

Hubby is from (born & raised) in Italy.
