Actually, the comparison between German and Dutch matches quite well. Although the russians have their own alphabet... and the Germans don't.
I never grew up in CZE, but I still am able to decipher single words out of a russian conversation.
Similar slavic shit, basically. Same with Croatian, Serbian... Polish...
