He got off because a spineless judge let the trial runaway and get out of his control via the defense's antics, and he also got off due to a biased and jaded jury, jaded due to recent events and also probably personal bad experiences in dealing with the police.
In my opinion, I think you are wrong -
I think he got away with it because the whole thing was played out like a monster movie on the tv -
They should ban tv and reporting from all courts until a person has been covicted or aquitted -
