Howard Dean on Hardball
earlier tonight. It was my first really good look at him. I gotta say
that I was very impressed.
The right would like to portray him as a wild-eyed liberal who is just totally pissed-off at the Conservative agenda that is being played out by the current administration.
In reality, he seems to be much more hopeful than pissed-off.
And a look at his economic record while he was in office,
shows that without a doubt that he is fiscally much more conservative than Bush.
I have to admit I was extremely skeptical of his chances to beat Bush in 2004-
But after hearing him tonight, I really think he might be able to do it. He has a great message, and seems to be very sincere.
His sincerity is a bit disarming, because it is something you don't usually associate with politicians.
I think a lot of people are getting very uneasy with both the war and the overall direction in which the USA is headed. I also think that you are beginning to see a bit of a backlash against the ultra consevative Christians who have seized way more than their share of power in the last few years.
I'll betcha that once more people get a look at Howard Dean,
the initial perceptions of him may change.
