a hell of a lot of people do it so there must be some point to it. Just because it isn't as good as a real relationship doesn't mean it's not a good surrogate.. A lot of people seem to have a hard time finding partners.. or at least they whinge about it a lot.
personally movies are already expensive enough without paying $100 an hour to sit in the darkness but whatever floats your boat.
