Open up the case. take a look at the RAM.

Maybe pull the RAM sticks out and put them back in. A connector may not be touching or the ram is not in properly. Maybe one of the RAM sticks is faulty.

I've had problems in the past also with CDR Player's sometimes the read write is to fast or to slow which will cause a sudden system crash.

When the system starts up take a look at the amount of ram it is counting. If its not 1024 -+ a few then Ram is probly fine. if it like 512 -+ a few then only 1 stick is working properly.
restarting now to check.
