You should always be trying to better your methods, not just when your ratio slips to under 1:500.

I think ratios are mostly implied for people who dont know what to expect from certain sponsors.There are some sponsors I know are good for at leasta certain amount per period,and if it dips below then I evaluate my methods of selling the product and tweak it accordingly. I think the real clue to traffic is diversifying your streams from which it comes.There are many many ways and places to get traffic from,its once they get to YOUR site how you divy it out to the surfer
