first choice would be "Three Colors Trilogy (Blue, White, Red)" by Krzysztof Kieslowski
definately some of the best film making i have ever seen
second choice would be "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover" by Peter Greenaway
filled with poignant political and art history references
third choice would be "2001: A Space Odyssey" by Stanley Kubrick
