are you talking about submitting to a thumb preview TGP? or just the thumbs you use on your gallery?

the thumb preview sites have about 3 popular sizes, so it's up to you to read what they want submitted - as far as on the gallery itself - too tough to call

I wouldn't use a full size pic smaller than 35kb - in fact I personally would just use 50kb+ - too many scripts will kick you back for small image size. And if you go back and upload bigger pics, you might get "flagged" for changing the gallery content

450x450 is usually acceptable, but I have seena few guys demanding 640x420 and even larger. Again, check the site specific rules, there will always be some guys with tougher standards - is their traffic volume/quality worth it to you?
