Octav and Steve were partners... best friends (still are on the friends part as far as I heard).
So no, Steve wouldn't be "hired"... he'd just join in or start his own thing.
If Octav went and got himself a new employee or partner named Steve G and it really isn't Steve Goldman... well, that would be a really BAD move.
