I would have to say that Oklahoma is pretty much untouchable. They've proven it again and again year after year. They've had their rough spots but are consistently winning. This year there is no doubt that they are kicking ass. It is pretty awesome to be able to hear the roar of the stadium several miles away. It's a lot like the fanfair of the professional teams. Of course the football fans in Oklahoma take their Sooners very seriously and it's a fun atmosphere the weekend of home games. The fanaticism is so great that the local Wal Mart in Norman even got their home office to approve a "Sooner Connection" store which was a pilot program for Wal Mart and it is in one of the little retail spaces up front and is wall to wall Sooner gear. It did so well in the first year that I hear that it will be branching out to all of the other college and professional towns eventually. OU just did a huge renovation to their stadium and increased the seating capacity by some insane amount as well as adding some primo suites to the mix. I think that they are definitely on a roll and there's no end in site. They aren't as big or as powerful as the teams from the 80's with the likes of Brian Bosworth but they are definitely skilled.
