Save it to the desktop and run it through your favorite image compression software (I use eyebatch). For 88x88's I always compress them to as close to 4kb as I can manage, while making sure to stay under. Lots of sites will reject you if you're over 4k...and while some will allow 5kb, the difference in quality isn't too noticeable and I dont like making 2 thumbs.
