PK is right. They can be a handfull. Fun but ignore them and forget about it they will make your life hell. They can also learn bad habits like a kid or dog. If screaming as loud as they can gets your attention (and they scream loud) they will do it every time they feel they want it (which is often).
I have a Macaw and a grey. The Macaw can be a pain in the ass as it is. I couldnt imagine dealing with a Cockatoo. Think twice before getting one.. err maybe think three times and read a bunch of books if you like your sanity
