But you're right, holding onto referral money that you earned isn't a good thing either. Best thing you can do is just find a way to work within the system, and check with the admin of a program before you go referring new people as to whether you have to make your own sales or not.

Yeah, I agree... well, if I was in it for the money (isn't everyone?) then I'd just stop referring people.
But that's not my nature... I'll continue on referring people regardless of me getting the money. I like to think that my site isn't just helping the program, it's helping those people I referred... if they get sales, then my job is done.
but me having the money isn't the issue, it's them being willing to pay me. I mean, it's the actual act of it.... nickle and diming the guy who is bringing them affiliates who can convert just doesn't seem right to me.
