There's a difference between my country and my government. I'm sure this is beyond your scope of understanding, but here it is. I love my country. It's a beautiful place. I love the diversity of its people, the freedom I'm given (and often take for granted, I'm sorry to say), and the natural beauty that it holds. For that alone, I would fight. I love the wide open spaces. How's the Netherlands for wide open spaces? I love that if I make money doing what I want to do, I can continue to do so. I love being able to flip off old ladies coming out of church if I want to, or slamming the door in a Jehovah's Witness' face if I want to or even having the freedom to choose my religion, if any.
For my country, I'll fight. My government can go fuck itself. I was willing to die to defend her, and I would again if I needed to.
