I will admit to having whacky consipracy theories now and again. I just think of these two things though:
1. You are free to vote for one of two parties. What if there is some kind of understanding between them on matters that don't appear to immediately influence your life? They slowly proceed and leave the rest of the idiots still getting high blood pressure over whether or not abortions should be legal.
2. If two people are in a country each vote counts 50% With America and now the EU they have crammed about 3-400 million people into each country essentially. What does your vote count for now? A brown stain maybe?
