There is a step between where maybe your room turns into a cave and other objects look and feel like other things. Like one time my bowl became an acorn and I could pick it up and touch it. If you completely break through you'll be out but your trip will continue totally in your mind. Your bed could turn into a boat and eventually you'll be able to jump in the water and swim around and see all kinds of sea life and stuff and just go forever. In reality you'll still be laying there though.
