ya back in the day i only traded links if the girl was really hot... I turned down so many link requests -- about the same time CJ sites were making big cash I started to feel bad that I was turning away so many links and busting my ass doing site reviews that I coudln't keep up with (site reviews get old -- especially in the dialup days and with so many banner farm sites!) -- that's about the time I wrote a new script and started accepting anyone's traffic... I hated reviewing sites but you really should do it!
